More
information

The Booth Collection held at the Archives Division of the British Library of Political and Economic Science (the Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science) contains 450 original notebooks from Charles Booth's survey into life and labour in London (1886-1903) as well as other related documents and maps. The Charles Booth Online Archive has recatalogued the collection in detail and made it available online.

The totality of the collection is arranged into six sub-series:-

A - Papers from the survey which were unbound at the time of deposit
B - Bound notebooks from the survey
    C - Archive inventory
D - Additional papers from the survey
    E - Maps
    F - Pamphlets

Thematically, notebooks and papers from the survey have been arranged into three series - poverty, industry and religious influences - reflecting the structure of the published survey of Life and Labour of the People in London.
